NARUTO (Masashi Kishimoto)

Twelve years before the start of the series, a powerful creature known as the Nine-tailed Demon Fox attacked the ninja village Konohagakure, killing many people. In response, the leader of Konohagakure’s ninja military – the Fourth Hokage – sacrificed his life to seal the demon inside the newborn Naruto Uzumaki. Konohagakure, however, regarded Naruto as if he were the demon fox itself and mistreated him throughout most of his childhood. A decree made by the current Kage, the Third Hokage, forbade anyone mention the attack of the demon fox to anyone else. This included Naruto, who was not aware of the demon inside of him. Years later, Naruto is tricked by the renegade ninja Mizuki into stealing a forbidden scroll that would teach him a secret ninja technique, but he is stopped by his teacher, Iruka Umino. When Iruka almost dies while protecting Naruto from Mizuki, who also reveals that he is the container of the Nine-Tailed Fox, Naruto uses the Jutsuhe learned from the scroll that creates multiple clones of himself, Shadow Clone Technique, to defeat Mizuki.

Naruto is assigned alongside, Sasuke Uchiha, who he competes against often, and Sakura Haruno, by Iruka after his class graduate from the Ninja Academy to form a three-person team named Team 7 under an experienced and severe sensei named Kakashi Hatake. Like all the ninja teams from every village, Team 7

is charged with completing missions requested by villagers, such as doing chores or being bodyguards. After several missions, Kakashi allows Team 7 to participate into a ninja exam in which they can advance to a higher rank, and thus, take part in more difficult missions. During the exams, Orochimaru, a criminal at the top of Konohagakure’s most wanted list, attacks Konoha and kills the Third Hokage in an act of revenge. This forces one of the three legendary ninja, Jiraiya to search for his former teammate Tsunade, who has been nominated to become the Fifth Hokage. During the search, it is revealed that Orochimaru desires to acquire Sasuke due to his powerful genetic heritage. Believing Orochimaru will be able to give him the strength needed to kill his brotherItachi, who destroyed his clan, Sasuke joins him. Tsunade sends a group of ninja including Naruto to make Sasuke return to Konoha, but Naruto is unable to defeat him and bring him back to the village. Naruto does not give up on Sasuke, however, and he leaves Konoha to train for two-and-a-half years under Jiraiya’s tutelage in order to prepare himself for the next time he encounters Sasuke.

After the training period, a criminal organization called Akatsuki attempts to capture the nine powerful tailed beasts that are sealed within people – including the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox sealed inside of Naruto. Several ninjas from Konohagakure, including Team 7, fight against the Akatsuki members and search for their teammate Sasuke. Although they manage to save Gaara, the host of the One-Tailed beast, Akatsuki is successful in capturing seven of the creatures. In the meantime, Sasuke betrays Orochimaru and faces Itachi to take revenge. After Itachi dies in battle, Sasuke is told by the Akatsuki founder Madara Uchiha that Itachi was ordered by Konohagakure’s leadership to destroy his clan. Saddened with this revelation, Sasuke joins forces with Akatsuki to kill Konohagakure’s superior who ordered the Uchihas’ elimination.

Meanwhile, as several Akatsuki members are defeated by the Konohagakure ninjas, their leader, Pain, invades the village to capture Naruto. However, Naruto defeats him and convinces him to abandon the village. With Pain’s eventual death, Madara announces that he wants to obtain all nine of the tailed beasts in order to perform an illusion powerful enough to control all of humanity. All the leaders of the five ninja villages refuse to aid him, and instead, join forces to confront him and his allies. This results into a fourth ninja world war between the unified armies of the Five Great Countries collectively known as the “Ninja Alliance Army” and Akatsuki’s forces.

ONE PIECE (Eiichiro Oda)

The series begins with the execution of Gold Roger, a man known as the King of the Pirates (海賊王 Kaizokuō?). Just before his death, Roger announces that his treasure, the One Piece (ひとつなぎの大秘宝 (ワンピース) Wan Pīsu?), will be up for the taking, causing the Great Pirate Era (大海賊時代 Dai Kaizoku Jidai?) to begin. As a result, countless pirates set out to the Grand Line to look for the treasure.

Twenty years have passed since Roger’s execution, and Monkey D. Luffy, a young pirate inspired by the pirate known as “Red-Haired” Shanks, has since set off on a journey from the East Blue to succeed Roger and find the treasure. He organizes and leads a nine-member crew named the Straw Hat Pirates. Each crew member Luffy encounters eventually become his close friends, including the swordsmanRoronoa Zoro, the navigator and thief Nami, the sniper Usopp, the womanizing chef and martial artist Sanji, the doctor and anthropomorphized reindeer Tony Tony Chopper, the archaeologist Nico Robin, the cybernetic shipwright Franky, and the musician skeletonBrook.

The crew crosses paths with diverse villains, such as Buggy the Clown, many of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, the Marines, who place bounties on Luffy’s, Zoro’s, and eventually the rest of the crew’s heads, and Arlong, a fishman and member of the former Sun Pirates. They encounter Baroque Works, the crime syndicate responsible for a civil war in the desert kingdom of Alabasta, along with fellow pirateBlackbeard, whose dream is also to become the King of the Pirates. The crew also confronts Enel, the ruler of the floating island Skypiea. Later, the crew meets the Marine admiral Aokiji, who reveals that Robin was involved in searching for Poneglyphs, stones with markings left by an ancient civilization whom Roger himself was also able to read. The crew also encounters Cipher Pol No. 9, the intelligence agency responsible for the destruction of Robin’s homeland, who causes the pirates to declare war on the World Government. After an epic battle at Enies Lobby, the crew defeats CP9 – saving Robin and avenging the lives lost in the destruction – and each member receives bounties on their heads.

Some time later, the crew prepares to sail off to the New World, the second half of the Grand Line. The crew eventually gets separated during a battle at the Sabaody Archipelago. At the same time, the Marines sentence Luffy’s older (adopted) brother who as it turns out is also Gol D. Roger’s son Portgas D. Ace to be executed, and hold a war against a group of pirates led by Whitebeard. Luffy eventually rescues Ace, but both Whitebeard and Ace are killed in the ensuing chaos. Later, Luffy and the crew undergo rigorous training regimens, some under the tutelage of prominent figures. Two years later, the crew regroups and journeys to Fishman Island to enter the New World. At the same time, a group of evil fishman pirates appear, and holds a coup d’état to decide the fate of the island, but are eventually defeated by the Straw Hats alongside Jimbei. The Straw Hats leave Fishman Island and finally reach the New World, but not before starting a feud with the legendary pirate Big Mom. Their first destination is the burning island Punk Hazard.

BLEACH (Tite Kubo)

Ichigo Kurosaki is a teenager gifted with the ability to see spirits. His life is drastically changed by the sudden appearance of a Soul Reaper—one who governs the flow of souls between the human world and the afterlife—named Rukia Kuchiki, who arrives in search of a Hollow, a dangerous lost soul. When Rukia is severely wounded defending Ichigo from the Hollow, she attempts to transfer half of her reiatsu (霊圧?, literally, “spiritual pressure”) energy to Ichigo so that he can defeat the Hollow. However, Ichigo takes almost all of her energy, transforming into a Soul Reaper and allowing him to defeat the Hollow with ease. With her powers diminished, Rukia is left stranded in the human world until she can recover her strength. In the meantime, Ichigo must take over Rukia’s role as a Soul Reaper, battling Hollows and guiding souls to the afterlife realm known as the Soul Society (尸魂界 (ソウル·ソサエティ) Sōru Sosaeti?).

As time passes and Rukia has yet to return to the Soul Society, her Soul Reaper superiors learn about her whereabouts and actions and sentence her to death for performing the illegal act of transferring her powers. Although he is unable to stop Rukia’s departure to the Soul Society, Ichigo resolves to rescue her with the aid of several of his spiritually aware classmates, Orihime Inoue, Yasutora Sado, and Uryū Ishida, and the ex-Soul Reapers Yoruichi Shihōin and Kisuke Urahara. Once at the Soul Society, Ichigo and company battle against the elites of the Soul Reaper military and strive to reach Rukia before her execution. It is revealed that Rukia’s execution and Ichigo’s rescue attempt both had been manipulated by a high-ranking Soul Reaper, Sōsuke Aizen, who was previously believed to have been murdered, as part of a far-reaching plot to take control of the Soul Society. Aizen betrays his fellow Soul Reapers and allies himself with the strongest of the Hollows, the Espadas. Aizen thus becomes the main antagonist of the series, and the Soul Reapers form an alliance with Ichigo. At this point, Bleach chronicles the war between the Soul Reapers, the Espadas, and Aizen. After each of the involved’s eventual defeats, Ichigo undergoes intense training with his father Ishin who turns out to be a former Soul Reaper to become strong enough to battle Aizen alone. As Aizen is weakened by his battle with Ichigo, a spell that Urahara had previously hidden within him activates and seals him, thus ending the conflict and leaving the Soul Society to imprison him. As a result of using all of his Soul Reaper powers to defeat Aizen, Ichigo loses them and becomes an ordinary human once again.

Seventeen months later, Ichigo meets “Xcution”, a group of humans possessing Fullbring powers based on Hollows and want Ichigo to absorb them. Ichigo starts training to regain his Soul Reaper powers by first developing his own Fullbring following the appearance of Shūkurō Tsukishima, the former leader of Xcution who is targetting his friends. After developing his Fullbring, Ichigo is betrayed by Xcution’s current leader Kūgo Ginjō, a former Substitute Soul Reaper who had his memories rewritten to act as Tsukishima’s enemy and help Ichigo gain powers to steal them. With help from Soul Society, Ichigo regains his Soul Reapers powers and starts fighting Ginjō’s group alongside Soul Society’s forces. The Soul Society forces end victorious with Ichigo killing Ginjō who was previously a Substitute Soul Reaper until betraying his comrades. The series then entered into its final arc as announced by Shueisha.

DRAGON BALL (Akira Toriyama)

The series begins with a young monkey-tailed boy named Goku befriending a teenage girl named Bulma. Together, they go on a quest to find the seven Dragon Balls. Goku later undergoes rigorous training regimes and educational programs under the martial artist Master Roshi in order to fight in the World Martial Arts Tournament, a competition involving the most powerful fighters in the world. During his training time with Roshi, he meets a bald Shaolin monk named Krillin, who starts out as Goku’s rival classmate; however, they soon become best friends. Outside the tournaments, Goku faces diverse villains such as Emperor Pilaf, the Red Ribbon Army, and the Namekian King Piccolo. Several of the enemies and rivals Goku encounters eventually become his allies and close friends, including the desert bandit Yamcha, the assassinTien Shinhan, the samurai Yajirobe, and King Piccolo’s offspring/reincarnation Piccolo Jr.

As a young adult, Goku meets his older brother Raditz, who reveals to him that they are members of a nearly extinct extraterrestrial race called the Saiyans. The Saiyans had sent Goku to Earth as an infant to conquer the planet for them, but he suffered a severe head injurysoon after his arrival and lost all memory of his mission, as well as his blood-thirsty Saiyan nature. Goku refuses to help Raditz continue the mission, and is soon killed along with Raditz in battle; however, he is revived a year later by the Dragon Balls. He then begins to encounter other enemies from space, most notably the Saiyan prince Vegeta, who becomes his rival and eventually ally. Goku also encounters Frieza, the galactic emperor responsible for the destruction of almost the entire Saiyan race, whose actions cause Goku to transform into a legendary Super Saiyan. After an epic battle on the planet Namek, Goku defeats Frieza, avenging the lives of billions across the galaxy.

Some time later, a group of androids from the former Red Ribbon Army appear, seeking revenge against Goku. During this time, an evil life form called Cell emerges and, after absorbing two of the androids to achieve his final form, holds his own fighting tournament to decide the fate of the Earth entitled the Cell Games. However, Cell is eventually defeated by Goku’s son Gohan in a desperate Kamehameha wave struggle. Seven years later, Goku and his allies are drawn into yet another battle for the universe against a magical demon named Majin Buu. After numerous battles, Goku destroys Buu with his ultimate attack; the Spirit Bomb. Ten years later, at another World Martial Arts Tournament, Goku meets Buu’s human reincarnation, Uub. Leaving the match between the two of them unfinished, Goku takes Uub away on a journey to train him.

Masashi Kishimoto’s Biography

28 Feb

Masashi kishimoto sensei’s biography!

Masashi kishimoto

Recent Role: on Naruto

Gender: Male

Born: 11-8-1974

Birthplace: Katsuta, Okayama Prefecture

Birth Name: Kishimoto Masashi

Born in the Okayama Prefecture in 1974 as the older of two twins, Masashi Kishimoto sprung on to the scene as one of the greatest mangakas in all of history just within the couple past years, with his beloved and ever popular manga of Naruto. Naruto has quickly become one of the most popular and best selling mangas of all time, read by millions worldwide each week.

As a pre-schooler Masashi Kishimoto was fixated with the TV show “Doraemon”, all of his friends at the time were in to the show as well, and everyone would draw pictures of the characters. Kishimoto was

always the perfectionist, pointing out obvious mistakes in other people drawings and showing them the way to draw it. “Now that I think about it, I sure was an annoying kid!” wrote Kishimoto.

In his elementary days, it would be safe to say that Masashi Kishimoto was obsessed with drawing (and are we sure glad that he stuck with it), during school he filled his notebooks with drawings, and he even would draw while playing hide and seek with his friends while he waited to be found. As previously stated, Doraemon was always the anime of choice for him until one day he saw an incredible show on TV, Mobile Suit Gundam, all his drawing time was now dedicated to drawing characters from that anime.

After awhile of drawing Mobile Suit Gundam characters, Kishimoto once again found a new anime, Akira Toriyama’s famous creation: Dr. Slump. Masashi Kishimoto recalls how he couldn’t believe how “super duper good” the art was and he began to draw the Dr. Slump characters and even submitted a crayon drawing of Arale-chan to a contest.

In his latter Elementary school days, Akira Toriyama’s most famous creation, Dragonball became an anime and for Kishimoto this spawned a whole new interest in Manga and Shonen Jump. Before this though there was another Jump anime entitled, Kinnikuman. Kishimoto and his brother would often play around trying to think their own character names. At the time they mostly revolved around condiments they could find in the refrigerator, like “Mustardman”.

Near the end of Elementary school, Masashi Kishimoto was strictly a Dragonball fan, he recalls how he was so obsessed with Akira Toriyama, “He was like a god to me, I was constantly drawing characters that appear in Dragonball.” At this stage in his life Kishimoto did not recieve an allowance to buy the 190 Yen Jumps, and would have to rely on a friend to show him jump to get his Dragonball fix.

It was at this stage in his life that Masashi Kishimoto made a decision that he is not regretting now, and many of his fans are thankful for. He started to think to himself that “Manga sure is great” and that he wanted to become a famous Mangaka like Akira Toriyama. Kishimoto created his first manga around this time entitled “Hiatari-kun”, a story revolving around a “Shadow ninja boy”.

Still in elementary school, Kishimoto was still obsessed with Akira Toriyama and would spend all of his extra time making his drawings look exactly like his idols. It was then that he saw a game that Akira Toriyama helped develop called “Dragon Quest”. The drawings were amazing, but unfortunately for Masashi Kishimoto he did not own a Famicon (Nintendo), which every other kid in his seemed to own. He certainly could not ask his parents for something of this nature, everytime his father heard the word “Video Game” he would tell Kishimoto to go study. It was then that his twin brother devised a plan to get a Famicon from someone else, but could someone willing to give away something worth 10,000 Yen possibly exist, he did and Masashi Kishimoto began to view this friend as a god.

After begging his father over and over repeatedly, Masashi Kishimoto finally recieved the game “Dragon Quest” the first game he had ever owned and the first time he had played an RPG game. His father that was so against video games began to play Dragon Quest as well, and just recently Kishimoto called his father, who had apparentally just beaten Dragon Quest 7.

In Junior High School, Kishimoto began to focus on things other then drawing. Baseball had become a big part of his life, and naturally there was alot more studying to do, which meant little or no time for drawing. He pondered to himself if he was “Too old to draw”, at this point an unbelievable event occured in his life. As he walked home from school he saw a movie poster, one of the best drawings he had ever seen, how could a person draw this good? The drawing was for Katsuhiro Ootomo’s “Akira”. This drawing rekindled the flame and passion to draw, and to this day he continues to draw continously in hopes of one day getting close to that picture.

After he learned of “Akira”, Masashi Kishimoto’s drawings changed in a big way. He spent hours studying and trying to understand the of Ootomo, but couldn’t. He then had a revelation that this was totally original, and nothing else was like this. It would be impossible to copy, much like a persons DNA. He couldn’t understand what was great about the drawings of both Ootomo and Toriyama, but there was a few things he could understand. The effects, designs, every small detail was perfect and different from other artists. Kishimoto then began thinking to himself that an attractive picture is an original one, learning how to copy other artists was pointless.

Kishimoto began to try and create his own but he found himself always copying someone elses to some extent, finding or creating an original would be very rare and near impossible. With this new belief, and the thought that Ootomo’s was unbeatable, Kishimoto began to try and make his drawings look exactly like his. As he entered his final year of Junior High, he would buy up all of the “Akira” material he could find and spend his time trying to draw the pictures exactly like Ootomo.

In the Eleventh Grade, Kishimoto created his first 31 page manga, he couldn’t tell if it was any good so he showed it to his brother. “Great isn’t it?!!” he asked. Only to get a reply of “This sucks!!”, naturally he couldn’t take his brothers word so he showed his father, and got the same reaction. Up until then Kishimoto had been really excited about submitting it for a Jump Magazine Award, but after that he lost the nerve and that manga will forever sit in the bottom of his desk drawer.

As a “simple, blind and stupid young man”, Kishimoto did not lose sight of his dream and thought to himself that if he wants to win the contest he will have to just keep creating mangas. His thinking may have been odd then, but looking back on it he reflects how it made excellent practice, plus he was so young his train of thought couldn’t be helped. After a few more manga projects, and being told that “This is no good” he began to wonder to himself why his mangas weren’t? What made other peoples better!?

Dedicating all of his time to figure this out, Masashi Kishimoto graduated high school ranked 38th out of 39th in his it quickly became obvious that with grades like this, he wouldn’t be getting into any college. No good at manga, no good at school, what would he do in life? Masashi Kishimoto didn’t give up, he got right back to drawing Manga, and inspiring to become a Jump mangaka. He reflects back on how his thoughts didn’t go to deep, “Well, things will work out!” was the extent of it. “Thank god for being stupid!”

Today everything has worked out for Masashi Kishimoto, his dreams of becoming a famous Jump mangaka have come true, his story about that shadow ninja boy, Naruto has become one of the best selling and most popular mangas worldwide. He has certainly shown that he can draw with the best of them, and despite all the adversities, he has succeeded. Masashi Kishimoto is a true inspiration, a true role model, and will go down in history as one of the best.
